Description
Each gram of this topical formulation contains Mupirocin Calcium USP equivalent to Mupirocin 2% w/w, along with preservatives Benzyl Alcohol IP (1% w/w) and Phenoxyethanol IP (0.5% w/w).
Mupirocin is a topical antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus species. It is used for the treatment of primary and secondary skin infections, such as impetigo, folliculitis, furunculosis, and infected eczema.
Common Side Effects
Generally safe and well-tolerated. Some mild, temporary side effects may include:
- Burning or stinging sensation at the application site
- Itching or redness
- Dryness or irritation of skin
- Rarely, allergic rash
