Description

Bhringraj, Makoi, Adusa, Kutki, Punarnava, Nishoth, Bhu Amla, Haritaki, Chitrak, Pippali, Sharpunkha, Sonth, Chirata, Guduchi, Pathak and Kasondhi is a multi-herbal formulation containing extracts/powders of traditionally used Ayurvedic medicinal plants. The formulation combines different plant parts, including whole plants, leaves, roots, rhizomes, fruits, stems, bark and root preparations, in a flavoured syrup base with Caramel USP/API as the colouring agent.

The ingredients in this formulation have traditionally been used in Ayurveda for supporting digestive, hepatic and general metabolic health. For example, Picrorhiza kurroa (Kutki) has been investigated for potential hepatoprotective effects, although the strength of clinical evidence varies by preparation and indication. Because this is a multi-ingredient herbal formulation, its overall clinical effects cannot be reliably attributed to any single ingredient, and traditional use should not be presented as proof of treatment or prevention of a specific disease.

The formulation contains Tinospora cordifolia (Guduchi), for which published evidence regarding safety is mixed; clinically significant liver injury has been reported in association with some preparations and cases, particularly with prolonged use. Therefore, the product should be used according to the labelled directions and appropriate professional advice, particularly in individuals with existing liver disease.
