Description
PODOGLO™ 100 Tablet contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP equivalent to Cefpodoxime (Anhydrous) 100 mg in each film-coated tablet. Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat susceptible bacterial infections.
It works by inhibiting bacterial cell-wall synthesis, thereby preventing the growth of susceptible bacteria. Depending on the causative organism and clinical assessment, cefpodoxime may be prescribed for certain respiratory tract, ear, throat, urinary tract, and skin/soft-tissue bacterial infections.
The tablet is film coated and contains Titanium Dioxide IP as a colouring/opacifying agent. It should be taken only as prescribed by a healthcare professional and is not effective against viral infections.
Possible Side Effects
PODOGLO™ 100 Tablet (Cefpodoxime Proxetil) may cause the following side effects:
- Diarrhoea or loose stools
- Nausea or vomiting
- Abdominal pain or stomach discomfort
- Indigestion or bloating
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Skin rash or itching
- Mild elevation of liver enzymes, occasionally
Use only as prescribed by a healthcare professional, and seek medical attention for severe or persistent diarrhoea, breathing difficulty, facial swelling, or an extensive skin rash.
How to Use
How to use Podoglo Tablet:
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. Podoglo Tablet DT should be taken with or after food.
