PODOGLO™ 50 Dry Suspension contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil IP equivalent to Cefpodoxime 50 mg in each 5 ml of reconstituted suspension. Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic used for the treatment of susceptible bacterial infections.

It works by inhibiting bacterial cell-wall synthesis, thereby preventing the growth of susceptible bacteria. Depending on the causative organism and clinical assessment, cefpodoxime may be prescribed for certain respiratory tract, ear, throat, urinary tract, and skin and soft-tissue bacterial infections.

The product is supplied as a dry powder for oral suspension, which is reconstituted before administration. It contains a flavoured base and Sunset Yellow as the colouring agent. It should be used only as prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional and is not effective against viral infections.
